Gowrie News

Updates and News from Gowrie Farm, Nottingham Road, KZN Midlands.

Feedback from the Committee Meeting held 30th of July 2012

DISTANCE MARKERS:
Please also note that new pin distance markers have been installed; red indicates back, yellow indicates middle and white indicates front on greens 2 / 12 and 5 / 14.

SATURDAY BOOKINGS:
The course is continuing to get busier, especially over weekends. We would like to remind members that we do hold the first two times every Saturday for our members, but please remember to phone John to book your golf, so we can do our best to accommodate everyone.

GOLF COURSE RATING:
In November, the Natal Golf Union will re-rate the golf course.  In the meantime, please note that the par and rating has gone up by a shot.
Men yellow – 70 to 71, white – 68 to 69 and blue – 67 to 68.
Ladies blue – 72 to 73, red – 68 to 69.

MEMBERS’ SCORES:
We have noticed that a couple of members are not entering their scores after the club competitions. John will check on Tuesday that all Gowrie members’ scores have been entered. Should scores not have been entered, John will enter them accordingly.

FISHING AT GOWRIE:
The Gowrie Farm Homeowners’ Association have decided to do away with outside fishing on the Gowrie dams.  We will, however, continue to hold annual in-house fly-fishing and golfing competitions.

LIGHTNING WARNINGS:
During all sanctioned competitions at Gowrie Farm, a siren will blow signalling the suspension of play.  A siren will not be sounded due to lightning being around on any other day other than a sanctioned competition.
