The subs for the new year have been settled. On average, the increase is approximately 8%, save in the case of members under the age of 26 and members between the ages of 26 and 32. In these categories, the annual subs have been reduced. This initiative is to try and encourage young people to play golf, for it is a concern to the trustees that nearly 60% of South African golfers are over the age of 50. We would like to encourage younger players to participate in this wonderful game. If you know of any promising young players who are keen to play, but find the game expensive, please point out that this is not the case at Gowrie Farm, where members do not pay green fees.
The 2010 subs accounts will be posted to all non-homeowners by the 15th of December, 2009. We would appreciate it if you could please ensure that payment is made before the end of January, especially those members who are handicapped at Gowrie Farm, as we need to pay the annual affiliation and handicap fees to the SAGA.
