I have been noticeably absent from Gowrie over July (and August) as my projects in the Western Cape drag me away for extended periods of time. In addition, I attended a summit in Canada, which pretty much took out any prospect of catching up on lost time on Gowrie Golf Course.
This definitely has had an impact on my standard of golf and I will need to apply myself better to rebalance by work / home/ golf ethic.
However I am sure you have all experienced this at some stage, but you will concur – coming back to play in the Tuesday Numzaans or the Friday Comp is always a motivator to get better organised,
The sponsored days continue with generous support from our local business folk, the most prolific being Power Africa to which we direct our thanks and gratitude. It is always a pleasure to receive the meat packs if skillfull or lucky enough.
Rounds for July were a little slow with 552 members rounds and 533 visitor rounds being recorded. Normally our visitors rounds are roughly 40-50% higher than members. We look forward to more patronage from members and visitors alike in the coming months.
You will have noticed that work on the new holes has started and whilst we debate and puzzle about the lie of the land, I personally can’t wait for the other holes to open. It’s going to be amazing to play 18 holes so close to home and will elevate Gowrie into a another level.
Thats all I have for now – wishing you all lots of pars and fun on the course.
