Gowrie Golfers
The 1st quarter of the year is Gone, and what a quarter it has been – from continuous rains of Jan to Club Champs in March. The club and course has been “hectic”. Talking of Club Champs what a spectacular weekend it was. Amazingly we had a full field of 60 golfers – with good weather, the golf was great but more importantly the camaraderie displayed was fantastic.
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the winners
1. Ladies – Silver: Noogs Spall | Bronze: Chantel Janks | Runner up: Patty van Eyk
2. Men B Division -Winner: Dr. Luke Thomlinson | Runner up: Richard Long
3. Mens C Division – Winner: Mncedisi Mthethwa | Runner up: John Du Pleez
Our Club Champion once again is Trevor Saulez with a score of 150!
I would like to thank all the staff, that made this event possible – from grounds to lodge staff but most importantly my thanks goes to Phil and the team in the Pro Shop. Talking of grounds the new holes are looking fantastic and I am, as you are, I am sure itching to play them.
The Ladies held a FANASTIC FESTIVAL OF GOLF AND I AM SURE Carmen will elaborate on that.
The Numzaans’ Road to November is very tight, with three players of 5 points, James Kean, Garry Barlow and Rich Robertson so lets see what next quarter brings.
As we approach Easter Holidays don’t forget we have the “Centenary of Golf ” coming up so please book your spots.
