The New Year is already in full swing and there is much excitement as we prepare for our annual two-day Gowrie Ladies Golf Festival. This will be held on the 8th and 9th of March this year. Our theme is March Masquerade and we look forward to seeing the Ladies make use of the opportunity to add sophistication and theatre to their golfing gear! We have 50 entrants so far, with space for one more four ball! We are always grateful to our Nottingham Road community for their willingness to sponsor our event so generously, and thereby ensure that our visitors have a fantastic experience. This year we have entrants from far and wide, including Pecanwood, Pretoria, Royal Johannesburg, Southbroom and Zimbali, just to mention a few. We are excited to welcome them to Gowrie.
Last year Gowrie finished in 3 rd place in the Midlands League and we look forward to the challenges of the New Year. Beginners are welcome to join the Bunnies on Tuesday mornings. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn under the guidance of our fabulous pro Phil. Ladies golf has moved to Wednesday mornings and the competitions are in full swing. Ladies wanting to play nine holes are also welcome to join the Monday afternoon group.
Thank you to the Gowrie Team who do such a wonderful job in looking after the grounds, greens, clubhouse and proshop, it is much appreciated. We look forward to seeing everyone on our beautiful course. May 2023 be a blessed year for all of you!
