2023 Numzaans has started with a bang. Congratulations to James Kean who was our January champ, edging out Trevor Hulley, who sadly left for the west Coast in February. Travel safe Trevor, we will miss your gentlemanly demeanor. February champ was Garry Barlow, who is now no stranger to bagging this piece of hardware…. well done Gazza!
Gowrie golf centenary week provides the opportunity for Numzaans to add to the festivities and celebration. On Tuesday 9th May, 24 Numzaans will challenge 24 Khleles (Bosch Hoek) in a biannual event with each team hosting their peers.
Dairy versus Beef golf day will be sponsored by Forge Agri Nottingham Road again this year. 88 golfers, mostly farmers will do battle on Tuesday 13th June 2023. Forge have increased their support and sponsorship for this event, and the necessity for a bigger field. Numzaan’s goal is to make this event unique to midlands golf. Prizes are being sponsored by Forge suppliers making for a good day to play hooky.
Numzaans golf will host Gowrie senior club championship on Tuesday 30th May please save the date. The competition is open to all Gowrie GC members, 55 years and older.
An anonymous sponsor has donated a magnificent trophy to recognise the extraordinary efforts of Numzaan John Page. John’s contribution to Gowrie Farm, the Homeowners Association and our local community was huge. This memorial golf day played annually, recognises those selfless community members who give of themselves for the benefit of others. Sadly, John passed unexpectedly late last year. We hope to get Nottingham Road community behind this annual day which is scheduled for Friday 4th August later this year. Further details to follow, please book this day in your busy diaries.
