This year our Gowrie Farm Ladies hosted a fabulous Yellowstone themed ladies festival which once again proved to be a great success showcasing our beautiful course as well as our wonderful Notties community!

HOSPITALITY & EXPERIENCES

Our heartfelt thanks go to Linda and Clive Foss of the Nottingham Road Hotel and their team, who ensured our Welcome Evening set the perfect tone for the festival. Their attention to detail, hospitality, and sponsorship of complimentary wine and bubbles elevated the evening.

The enthusiasm of our players was beautifully matched by the memorable experiences off the course. Daddy Pig’s braai provided hearty fare, complemented by the exceptional cheese platters from Just Cheese, paired with wine from DGB South Africa and gin and tonics from Rawdons Brewery. These thoughtful contributions created a festive atmosphere that will long be remembered.

We also acknowledge Spring Meadow for sponsoring juices and yoghurts at halfway – a refreshing and much-appreciated gesture.

RAFFLE SPONSORS

Our raffle sponsors very generously gave prizes to the value of R65 000which we were able to raise R22 320. The raised funds were shared equally between Mooi River SPCA and FreeMe. A very big thank you to Rita Du Plessis, Indigo Fields, Angela Arbuthnot, and Zimbali Lakes. .

These monies were very well received and the money we raised for the SPCA has gone towards a new vehicle that they are in need of.

GOODIE BAGS & FAREWELL GIFTS

Thoughtful details enriched the player experience. Gowrie Pharmacy supplied essential items for the goodie bags, while Dargle Valley provided much-enjoyed dry wors at registration. Colleen Franklin of Well Rooted and Dr. Nicola Frickle sponsored beautifully scented bath salts as farewell gifts, adding a personal touch of care and luxury. We also thank Wilna Du Plessis, who supported a local craftsman by providing Yellowstone-themed keyrings.

We were once again overwhelmed by the generosity of the community as well as personal sponsorship in the form of prizes! The Gowrie Festival has become renowned for the substantial prizes we are able to give away. This is a big draw card for the ladies to take part in our festivals and to prove that, 75 of the ladies were not from the Midlands region.

We are deeply fortunate to have such a dedicated team at Gowrie. To Ever, our General Manager, and his team – your professionalism, efficiency, and unfailing positivity ensured the smooth running of this festival. Jonathan, our Golf Director, provided seamless competition management with energy and commitment. To Eve and Christopher, whose efficiency behind the scenes kept every detail on track, and to Matthew Hoines, our Greenkeeper, and his team, for presenting the course in superb condition at the close of winter – we thank you all most sincerely.

THE DREAM TEAM

Last but not least, to my wonderful Gowrie Ladies and ladies committee members, my Dream Team…..your camaraderie, tireless dedication and friendship remain the pillars and the success of such an event. Without all of you pulling together none of this would be possible. I am very proud of what we have been able to present and able to achieve in terms of raising money for the aforementioned charities. I am truly grateful to each and every one of you!
