The 5th Hole - 'The Wall'

"The 5th hole at Gowrie Farm is a template hole modelled after the 13th at North Berwick in Scotland. The hole is famous for its stone wall which runs down the left hand side and crosses in front of the green.

The original design did not include this wall however during the clearing of the tree covered area for the fairway there were several tons of rocks that needed to be removed. Instead of carting them offsite - it was decided to use them as a feature of the hole.

Playing the hole requires precision and strategy. The left hand side is the better angle to the green and ideally you need a 200-230m club for optimal positioning.

The green contours run from front to back meaning approaches should be left a little short to run down the green.

Avoid being too close to the wall at all costs!"
