June – September 2026 Golf Highlights & Results

It has been a busy few months at Gowrie Farm, with the course playing host to everything from club championships and golf festivals to school and community fundraisers. Members have also represented Gowrie Farm further afield, with some excellent results along the way. Here are a few of the highlights from recent months.

Old Tom Morris Jug 2026 — 12-13 June

A celebration of golf as it is meant to be played.

The 2026 Old Tom Morris Jug 12-13 June brought together eight teams for two memorable days of competitive golf and great company. The Midlands winter weather was at its finest and made for another memorable edition of this much-loved Gowrie Farm tradition.
Congratulations to this year’s top three teams:

Gowrie Old Toms – 32 points
The Guards – 24 points
Jump The Que – 23 points

Thank you to all players who embraced the spirit of the event and contributed to a wonderful weekend of golf, camaraderie and competition!

Club Champs Match Play – 12 July

The Club Champs Match Play competition produced some excellent golf and plenty of competitive matches.

Congratulations to Murray Pitt, who was crowned the 2026 Gowrie Farm Match Play Club Champion, with Simon Zagt finishing as runner-up.

A great achievement and a fitting addition to what has been an outstanding year for Murray.

Michaelhouse Golf Day – 14 August

Gowrie Farm was delighted to host the inaugural Michaelhouse Golf Day in August.

The event brought together members of the wider Michaelhouse community, including parents, Old Boys, staff and St Michael’s Club members, with the day supporting funded places for boys at Michaelhouse.

Held on a beautiful winter’s day, it was a wonderful example of golf bringing people together while supporting an important cause.

Ladies Festival – 27 August

August saw 104 ladies from across South Africa gather at Gowrie Farm for the Ladies Golf Festival.

The festival is a highlight of the golfing calendar, bringing players together for competitive golf, friendship and plenty of fun, while celebrating the continued growth of women’s golf at Gowrie Farm.

A big thank you to Deidre and her team, along with all the players, sponsors and supporters who helped make the event such a success.

Renasa Champion of Champions – 7 September

Gowrie Farm members represented the club with distinction at the 2026 Renasa Champion of Champions at Kloof Country Club.

Murray Pitt – 7th, Men’s A Division
Garry Barlow – 5th, Men’s C Division
Leigh Beckerling – 4th, Ladies C Division

Three excellent performances against strong fields and in challenging conditions.

Congratulations to Murray, Garry and Leigh on representing Gowrie Farm so well.

Open Hands Golf Day – 10 September

Gowrie Farm was proud to host the inaugural Open Hands Golf Day on 10 September.

The event combined golf, networking and fundraising in support of Open Hands ZA, a KwaZulu-Natal organisation working with people rebuilding their lives after stroke and brain injury.

The day brought business leaders and the Midlands community together through golf, while raising support for people affected by stroke and brain injury.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the day meaningful both on and off the course.
