A Warm Welcome to Mpilo Khumalo

We are delighted to welcome Mpilo Bhekumuzi Khumalo to Gowrie Farm as our new Food & Beverage Manager.

Originally from Pietermaritzburg, Mpilo began his journey in food at Fern Hill Hotel & Training College, where he completed his culinary qualification. Since then, his career has taken him through hotels, restaurants and luxury game lodges, working as both an Executive Sous Chef and Head Chef.

For Mpilo, joining Gowrie Farm also marks a very welcome return to the Midlands. After spending some time away, he is thrilled to be back amongst the countryside he loves, closer to home, and hopes to make the Midlands the long-term home of his career.

Working particularly closely with Ever and the wider Gowrie Farm team, Mpilo will oversee our food and beverage offering, with a focus on good, honest country-style food, homemade favourites and the warm hospitality that has always been such an important part of Gowrie Farm.

The clubhouse is very much the beating heart of Gowrie Farm — a place where rounds are recounted, friends meet, families gather and there is usually a good story being told around the table. We are excited to have Mpilo bringing his experience, enthusiasm and love of food to this important part of life at Gowrie Farm.
