Golf Department Update
Golf Team Update
We would like to share several important updates within our golf department, alongside heartfelt recognition of some exceptional people.
A Sincere Thank You to Deborah Price
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Deborah who will be stepping down from her consulting position at the end of March. Deborah has truly “held the fort” during a period of transition at the club and has gone above and beyond in planning, coordinating, and hosting groups and events, ensuring continuity and excellence throughout. Her dedication and willingness to step in wherever needed, played a vital role in the success of the golf department over the last year and we are immensely grateful for everything she has contributed. We look forward to celebrating Debs properly with a farewell gathering before she leaves and to maintaining a great relationship into the future.
Congratulations to Eve Masiteng
Following on from this, please join me in congratulating Eve on her promotion to Head of Groups and Events, effective 1 April 2026. Eve has consistently demonstrated outstanding commitment, professionalism, and care in everything she has done, from her excellent work in the Pro Shop, to her meticulous administration of memberships, and most importantly, in helping foster a welcoming, service-driven culture within the golf department. Her work ethic, attention to detail, and genuine warmth have not gone unnoticed, and I have no doubt that she will thrive and excel in her new role.
Welcoming Nick Smythe
To support the Pro Shop following Eve’s transition, we are delighted to welcome Nick Smythe as Assistant Professional. Nick is an ex-Michaelhouse pupil and currently serves as a Director of a school in Vietnam. He brings with him a strong leadership background, a passion for the game, and a Level 2 golf coaching qualification. Nick will be assisting in the Pro Shop, supporting golf operations, and offering lessons from time to time. We are excited to have him on board and appreciate his eagerness to add value across multiple areas of the department.
A Special Word of Appreciation for Chris Matungwana
And finally, a special word of appreciation for Chris. Quite simply, the department would not be the same without him. Chris is a true team player, reliable, hardworking, and exceptionally good with people. His contribution spans both the operational side of the department and the Pro Shop merchandise, where his consistency and care continue to make a real difference. Chris, thank you for your dedication and the pride you take in your work. We look forward to many more successes together.
Looking Ahead
Thank you to each of these individuals for the energy, professionalism, and heart they bring to the club every day. We look forward to a great 2026.
